On October 30th took place the presentation of INSERSport, the leading project of the Social and International Action Area of the UFEC.
INSERSport aims to promote the social and labor inclusion of young people at risk of social exclusion. Through this project, young people learn a sport thanks to the collaboration of the Catalan sports federations, and are trained in transversal skills, taught by the team of psychologists of the UFEC. Upon completion, they obtain a federative certificate that allows them to start working as referees, assistants and sports monitors. In this way, and since 2017, INSERsport aims to create a bridge towards a first job and the formative continuity of young people.
The event was attended by representatives of federations, entities of the Third Social Sector and educational centers. During the event, this year’s edition was presented, which would not be possible without the collaboration and funding of Incorpora – Fundació La Caixa. In addition, attendees enjoyed two round tables: the first with the testimonies of young people from previous editions and the second with the experiences of the Catalan Volleyball Federation and the Migra Studium Foundation, federation and entity that year after year have relied on INSERsport. The event concluded with the screening of the documentary “Game Changers”, by Otoxo Productions, about the 2019 edition developed in the neighborhood of La Mina in Sant Adrià de Besòs.
Since 2017, more than 600 young people, 25 federations and 80 entities of the Third Social Sector have participated in the project in different editions in Barcelona, Girona and Lleida. This year’s edition is carried out thanks to the collaboration of Incorpora – Fundació La Caixa and has two groups in Barcelona in which the young people are trained with the Catalan Volleyball Federation. About 30 young people, from 11 entities of the Third Social Sector, participate in the program that will end in December.
