The youth of SPEY meet #Kicksfortheneighborhood

This week the SPEY project youngsters have met #Kicksfortheneighborhood (#Kickspelbarri), an initiative promoted by two youths from the city of Badalona. The initiative aims to collect used shoes and thought painting and/or repairing them, give them a new life. They have already collected more than three hundred units and distributed more than a hundred. Youth from Badalona visited the SPEY program as part of the “inspiring projects” session.

Young participants were able to meet firsthand two amateur athletes who are carrying out a small project with a great social impact. This meeting has been planned after working transversal skills in previous sessions throughout success stories of sportsman that also promote social projects.

The two young people from #Kickspelbarri have explained their experience and how they have developed their idea. Then, they have been painting some pairs of shoes while the youngsters were training and participating in the activity. Some of the participants have even taken home sneakers that they can reuse for workouts.

The activity, framed within the objectives of the SPEY program, aims to accompany youth in carrying out pro-social initiatives. Inspirational projects as #kickspelbarri help to know one of the different paths to follow and the steps to carry them out.
