The INSERsport program, a leading project of the Social and International Action Area of the UFEC, has started in recent weeks. INSERsport aims to promote the social and labor inclusion of young people at risk of social exclusion.
During the program, the young people learn a sport, thanks to the training provided by the Catalan sports federations, and are trained in transversal competencies, taught by the UFEC’s team of psychologists. At the end, they obtain a federation certificate that facilitates their entry into the labor market as referees, monitors, etc. of the corresponding federation. INSERsport thus aims to be a bridge to a first job and training continuity.
Since 2017, more than 600 young people, 25 federations and 80 entities of the Third Social Sector have participated in the project in different editions in Barcelona, Girona and Lleida.
This year’s edition is carried out thanks to the collaboration of Incorpora – Fundació La Caixa and has two groups in Barcelona in which the young people are trained with the Catalan Volleyball Federation. Almost 30 young people, coming from 11 entities of the Third Social Sector, participate in the program that will end in December.
