The Language Service was created in 1989 and works to normalise the use of Catalan in sports.
Amongst its duties it:

. Coordinates and manages the needs of the federations when it comes to the Catalan language. Essentially translation, editing, resolving linguistic inquiries, terminologies and elaboration of vocabulary.

. Actively participates in language normalisation campaigns that are carried out by the administration which involve the sports sector.
